This isn’t my first post about my current skin routine but I am on an all new regiment thanks to my new dermatologist.

As I mentioned before, I have been dealing with acne for almost 10 years. For anyone that has/had acne (and I’m not talking about the people who have 2 pimples and think the world is going to end) will understand what it feels like and how it effects your life. There were times when my friends would want to go out and I would lie and say I couldn’t afford it or that I had an early morning the next day because my face had erupted in a horrible bout of acne. It wasn’t for lack of trying to cure my acne either. When I say I have tried every drugstore, department store and TV offer I literally mean I did. The sad part is it could have been fixed a long time ago, but I was too embarrassed to go to the dermatologist even though they fix troubled skin for a living. Finally, I realized enough was enough. Erick had visited the offices of Dr. Bobby Buka for his psoriasis and had been relieved of his own skin condition so I figured why not try them out.

Its been about a month since my first visit and I am beyond happy to say my skin is loving the products I’ve been prescribed and my skin is finally clearing up!

Here are the products that are seriously helping my skin…

Sumadan: Sumadan is a sulfur based face wash that you can only get through prescription and even with my insurance and a coupon still came out to $135.00. I have been using three new products so it’s hard to say what is responsible for helping my skin, but I believe this face wash has a big part in it!

Epiduo: Epiduo is the second prescribed medication I have been using. It is a adapalene and benzoyl peroxide based topical treatment. It’s light weight and feels really great on my skin. I think this product has been responsible for slowly getting ride of hyper-pigmentation and just bettering the all over appearance of my skin.

Spironolactone (not pictured): Spironolactone is the final medication prescribed to me. It is an oral medication and was actually first made for patients with high blood pressure, turns out it seriously helps with acne as well!

The Ren and Clinique creams are what I use as moisturizers. The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion is a classic and will always be in my collection. The Ren Clear Clam 3 Replenishing Gel Cream is a new product I’ve been using and I’m waiting to see how I like it. Although, the moisturizing aspect of it isn’t fantastic I do noticed a reduction in redness.

The Roc Retinol Correxion Eye Cream is a great eye moisturizer and after using it for about 6 months I do noticed a difference in the fine lines around my eyes and that there is less makeup creasing in that area.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Gel is an amazing spot treatment. Generally after two nights of use the spot being treated will be reduced in size or gone.

Finally, the holy grail of face masks! The Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal mask is just the greatest! It is so luxurious feeling, and makes your skin feel clean while leaving it look polished. I like to use this while in a hot bath so your pores open and allow the product to really extract everything that is clogging your pores. Try this, I promise you will not regret it!

Sorry for the extra long post, but I always have a lot to say when it comes to skin!

Happy Friday! xx
