As we all know it was the annual Met Gala here in New York City last night. For a mere $25,000 you can rub elbows with industry elites in the worlds finest couture.
This is by far my favorite fashion event to gawk over and last nights goers made this Gala gathering one of my favorites yet.
There were a lot of gowns that were drop dead, but I didn’t appreciate how a lot of women did not exactly stick with the theme. This years theme was “White Tie” as Charles James was being honored for all of his work through the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.
I made sure when choosing my favorite gowns that they were on point with the theme and I think these ladies did a fantastic job without looking like they were going to a Halloween party.
My favorites were; My personal favorite Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen, Allison Williams in Oscar de la Renta, Taylor Swift in Zac Posen, Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta and Reese Witherspoon in Stella McCartney (see the designer pattern).
I was incredibly disappointed in a few women. I was expecting Kim K. to wear something outstanding, along with Emma Stone and Rosie Huntington (I think she thought last years “Punk” theme was a forever thing). Although they looked stunning, they just weren’t trying hard enough.
Until next year.
