Manicure Monday!
The perfect at home manicure!
1.) Make sure your nails are completely bare. I prefer to use 100% pure acetone.
2.) I have terrible cuticles, so I love Sally Hansen’s Cuticle Remover. Place a drop on each finger and rub in well for about 15 seconds and wipe away with paper towel. The paper towel acts as an exfoliant and removes all the dead skin.
3.) If there is excess skin left, I go and lightly trim it with cuticle scissors.
4.) Applying a basecoat is so important, as you can see my nails have a yellow tinge, that’s from years of not using a base. Obviously before I became a nail junkie.
5.) Here I used OPI’s Pamplona Purple. I usually apply two coats.
6.) For long lasting, chip free polish a top coat is a must. I LOVE Seche Vite’s formula. My manicures last for a good 3-4 days with this product and it dries to touch in max 10 minutes.
7.) Going back to me having terrible cuticles, a cuticle oil is something I use religiously. I absolutely love Essie’s Apricot Cuticle Oil. It keeps my cuticles perfectly moisturized for a good 72 hours.
8.) Et Voila! The perfect at home manicure, I get compliments all the time on how great my nails look all the while I did them at home probably watching some trashy (amazing) Bravo show.
Painting your nails does take practice but as the old saying goes, practice makes perfect!
Good luck!
